Scope of work

The main concern of the CPS profession is Promoting Positive Work Ethics, Efficiency in Business Management and Good Corporate Governance. The Company Secretary is the conscience of the Board. Some of the activities GKC would carry out are:
1. Ensuring that the board balances conformance (e.g. compliance with legislation, regulations and codes of practice) with performance aspects of the board’s work (including improving performance of the organization through strategy formulation and policy making)
2. Ensuring that directors are aware of their roles and responsibilities
3. Illustrating the differences between mediocre and high performing boards
4. Induction and Corporate Governance training of boards
5. Carrying out Board Evaluation processes
6. Equipping board members to efficiently and effectively participate in Board deliberations
